I’m Carly Alcaraz, founder of SlimeCityB and a longtime creator in the slime community since 2016. Back in the early days of slime exploding online, I was one of the first 50 slime accounts in the United States, and what started as posting slime videos quickly turned into something much bigger than I ever expected.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to appear on the Tubi series Slime Wars, be featured on Inside Edition, and collaborate with brands like Elmer’s, Paramount, and Nickelodeon. But beyond the partnerships and media opportunities, the most meaningful part of this journey has always been the community that formed around slime.

Before COVID, one of my favorite parts of being in the slime world was traveling to conventions, meeting creators and customers in person, and seeing this weird, colorful internet niche come to life in real spaces. Slime conventions felt creative, chaotic, welcoming, and sooo special. When the pandemic happened, those events disappeared almost overnight, and they never came back.

For years, people in the community kept asking when slime conventions would return. Eventually, I realized that if nobody else was going to bring them back, maybe I should try.

That idea became SlimeCityCon.

What started as a dream to reunite the slime community has now grown into a full-scale convention designed to bring together creators, collectors, families, artists, small businesses, and sensory play enthusiasts from all over the country. We’re building something that feels bigger than a traditional slime convention! This is a colorful, hands-on, immersive experience centered around creativity, nostalgia, connection, and community for all ages

SlimeCityCon is more than just an event to me. It’s a love letter to the community that shaped such a huge part of my life, and a chance to finally bring people back together again after years apart.

After everything the slime community has been through, it feels like it’s finally time for the reunion we’ve all been waiting for.
